LEGO Avengers Review: The Hulk #5000022

I love it when the LEGO Store has giveaways since they just reward me for already buying way too much there. Almost all of my LEGO purchases now occur solely at LEGO Stores, I frequently end up with an extra set tossed into my giant bag. Is it bad that I don’t know if LEGO bags some smaller than massive?

The Hulk got a figure in Hulk’s Helicarrier Breakout but the maxifigure, while excellent, meant many kids wouldn’t be able to complete their Avengers. Of course, LEGO seems to have perfected the system of requiring you to buy every set if you want to get all the minifigures. So from May 16 to 31, if you spend $50 at the LEGO Store (or online), you get a free Hulk minifigure in a polybag!

A regular sized figure, Hulk works really well in this scale. While I adore the massive one, getting Hulk in the classic purple pants just feels right. Cast almost entirely in green, Hulk just works. Bare chested and wearing the tattered remains of his purple pants, Hulk may not look like the strongest there is but he looks like Hulk.

Thanks to a double-sided head, Hulk can be either filled with rage like he’s roaring at General Ross or Abomination. The other side shows him a little more calm, but just as angry with a sneer across his face. For hair, Hulk has the same as Harry Potter. Hulk doesn’t some with any accessories.

For a free figure, this figure works really well. For Avengers fans, this is a great way to get around buying the Helicarrier set for a single figure, but act fast because he isn’t available for much longer!
