I’m in love with the polybag sets that Target has been selling in their seasonal section the last few years. Sometimes the sets are impossible to find (I’m still not convinced the Ghost set was real), but they’re often micro builds that just end up looking really cool. Case in point: the Batmobile.
At 45 pieces and a $4 price tag, there’s no reason not to pick up this set if you’re a fan of the Batman. The assembly is great and simple, but fully utilizes SNOT techniques (studs not on top) – look at it! Not a single LEGO stud is visible, and that is rare in a LEGO product.
Little flourishes like the flames in the back, the brake lights (Batman cares about safety after all) and headlights all contribute to this feeling more like a Matchbox car than a LEGO set. The only ever so minor complaint is that a single yellow plate is used in the base and is barely visible from the side.
Originally this set came out during the holidays, but most of the stores around me moved it into the checkout aisles. At $4, this is a great little set – especially for anyone who wants a Batmobile but doesn’t want to shell out $50.
