Wait – They actually let me in at Toy Fair?!
Yeah, I’m still surprised. And even more surprising, I got to go to Toy Fair for work. So that hopefully explains the lack of updates (and that horrible blizzard that hammered Boston didn’t help things either).
So while many of my blogger compatriots have been showing off photos of stuff, here’s some of the weirder stuff (well, besides TMNT) that should be seen! Sadly, I wasn’t able to take photos of the cool stuff like LEGO Man of Steel (very nice looking sets), Iron Man 3 LEGO sets and Minimates (what you’re expecting, but Stark’s house is really cool) and Diamond totally ruined a chunk of Thor 2 for me by spinning around an image of the upcoming Minimates series (it’s awesome).
ThinkGeek was fun with their new LEGO-esque mug which I probably need. As for the upcoming candles, I want some Middle Earth for my apartment.
Playmates was a blast for me. As someone who grew up oogling the beautifully constructed cityscapes in the catalogs, seeing one in person was a dream come true. The new figures included Leatherhead, Snakeweed, Rat King, Newtrilizer, a giant Cockroach and some new turtle variants. I didn’t photograph everything, but the new Toddler Turtles as a must have!
Though I think my favorite part was when one of the Playmates Toys’ VPs joked that I should be giving the tours of their booth…
Rocksteady and Bebop for the TMNT Classics line are still prototypes, but honestly look pretty good in person. I love Rocksteady and am less thrilled on Bebop’s giant neck. Now here is a bunch of stuff I be no one else bothered to show from Toy Fair:
I can’t wait to go back. I love my job.
