Disney Heroes Review: Pirates of the Caribbean

When I first saw The Pirates of the Caribbean in theaters, my friend and I decided to do a double feature and saw Pirates and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. We watched LXG first and while that movie peaked when I turned to my friend and said, “Not even a guy with a flamethrower could save this movie,” and a guy with a flamethrower proceeded to walk on screen and my jaw dropped. So when we refilled our ICEE and popcorn, we had little hope for the Pirates of the Caribbean being good. And boy, were we wrong.
So when I found a little while ago that Disney World had exclusive sets of Pirates of the Caribbean characters done in a style similar to Hasbro Heroes, I knew I had to get them for my growing collection of tiny toys. Originally, the Pirates brand was so successful that there was going to be an animated series made and these figures are based off those designs.
Hulk Super Hero Squad Review: Hulk & Zzzax

For a while, the Super Hero Squad avoided any C or D-list characters, they stuck with the big names like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man. But gradually, Hasbro started peppering more obscure characters and this one is the last one, at least alphabetically.
Marvel Super Hero Squad Review: Collector’s Pack #2

The first Super Hero Squad Collector’s Pack was a decent jumping on point as a set for the line and included 8 repaints of various figures. But the set was overproduced and went on clearance. So when Hasbro released the second Collector’s Pack, they made less of them but included two fan favorite characters with brand new sculpts! So of course it was more popular and nearly impossible to find.
Custom: Marvel Zombie Super Hero Squad

I loved Marvel Zombies when they first came out in the Ultimate Fantastic Four series. Sure, it was originally heralded as the first cross over between the 616 universe and the Ultimate universe (that didn’t actually happen until a vague off hand reference in She-Hulk during some crazy universe hopping). While I’m not the first person to make Marvel Zombie Super Hero Squad customs, I did try a different method to set mine apart from the absolutely amazing set made by MutieJoe.
Marvel Super Hero Squad Review: Spider-Man & Hobgoblin

I adore Norman Osborn. I mean, my entire online presence is completely inspired the original Green Goblin! So I’m a tad annoyed that not only did Hobgoblin get a figure before a comic book Green Goblin, but the Green Goblin figure never even got released (on a side note, if anyone can get me this set I will be very, very happy)! Of course, when I tried to buy the figure internationally, the seller stole my money and sent me a sheet of Sponge Bob Squarepants stickers instead! I just want an adorable, pocket sized, comic version Green Goblin! Is that too much to ask Hasbro?
