Wolverine Super Hero Squad Review: Battling the Brotherhood

with one comment

The Wolverine Super Hero Squad was just a glorified way to get more X-Men crammed into the line without having them spill over in the regular line. Kind of like how Spider-Man was absent for the first five waves of the Super Hero Squad. But getting more X-Men often means getting more repaints.

When the Blob plants his feet, nothing on Earth can force him to move. Luckily, the incredible strength of Colossus, the fighting skills of Wolverine and the freezing ice blasts of Iceman are more than enough to bring him down.

Marvel Super Hero Squad Review: X-Men Showdown with Magneto

without comments

The first Super Hero Squad 4-pack that I reviewed was just four random repaints thrown together in a box set that was less than exciting. But upon opening the second pack, it’s immediately apparent what’s going on since all four of these figures are brand new sculpts.

Marvel Super Hero Squad Review: Danger Room Debacle 5-Pack

without comments

So when I first saw the Danger Room Debacle in stores, I immediately bought it because the packaging was that good.

The package is half a cylinder about a foot long. The open window shows four X-Men facing off against Magneto in the Danger Room. The Danger Room is done simply: two ramps while the rest is various shades of light blue. It looks pretty much exactly how I think the Danger Room should look while it is inert. Plus the packaging is designed to let all the figures be removed without damaging the backdrop! It is excellent design work and clearly a precursor to the display that came with Slave I.

Review: Marvel Super Hero Squad – Angel & Colossus

without comments

The first wave of the Super Hero Squad had a clear theme: the X-Men! One of the four major lines at Marvel, the X-Men have almost always been very popular, and by always I mean except for the 5 years when no new X-Men comics were published and the book was turned into a reprint book from 1970 – 1975.
