LEGO TMNT Review: Baxter Robot Rampage #79105

without comments

With each new version of the Ninja Turtles, it is always exciting to see how classic characters get revisited. Baxter Stockman has gone from robotics genius, to mutant fly, to disemboweled scientist and now he’s… a guy who just got really lucky. Or really unlucky it hasn’t all panned out yet. LEGO TMNT Review: Shredder’s Dragon Bike #79101

without comments

I officially don’t understand scale in the LEGO universe. You would think a motorcycle would be smaller than a horse, right? Turns out you’re wrong or Dragon Bike means something else completely. Read the rest of this entry »

Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles Review: Donatello

with one comment

In the Turtles mythos, Leonardo has always been well-defined as the leader, while Raphael was the hothead and Michelangelo was the goofball. Donatello though seemed to fluctuate between technology driven scientist, cool and geeky and borderline sociopath. How else do you explain him keeping the remains of Baxter Stockman hidden in the sewers? I’m hoping the new Nickelodeon series doesn’t go that dark. Read the rest of this entry »

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics Review: Donatello

with one comment

I think it’s actually impossible for me to own just a single Ninja Turtle. You have to have all four of them; otherwise it doesn’t count, right? Or maybe I’m just horribly impatient and ordered all of the TMNT Classics figures at once just to make sure I got them. Read the rest of this entry »

TMNT Mega Bloks Review: Ninja Turtles vs. the Foot Clan

without comments

Aside from the latest Marvel and Halo Mega Bloks figures, I only intentionally bought Mega Bloks for myself twice ever. First was the Mega Bloks Galaxy Space Station which I got simple because of how exceptionally cheap it was. But after that, a long time passed before Mega Bloks got the one license I knew I couldn’t resist: Ninja Turtles. Read the rest of this entry »

TMNT Mini Mutants Review: Don’s Secret Surveillance Lab with Bigfoot

with one comment

The Ninja Turtles must have such an easier life in a world with the internet. They can stop scavenging around for parts and pieces for Donny to play around with. All they need is a PayPal account and they’re good to go.

When the brutish Bigfoot bursts into Don’s Surveillance Lab it’ll take all of his scientific smarts and techno trickery to bring the beast down! Don jets into action on his security scooter, slides open the secret door, sets up a trap for the big hairy behemoth and gets ready to bushido bash the beast with his bo staff! TMNT Mini Mutants Review: Cyber-Rippers with Raphael & Donatello

without comments

When I got my Ninja Turtles Mini Mutants collection, I bought the near-complete run from another member over at the Technodrome. So while I was excited to get some extra Foot Tech Ninjas and Triceratons, it also meant I ended up with some extra vehicle sets too. Read the rest of this entry »

TMNT Mini Mutants Review: Extreme Sports Donatello & Baxter Stockman

without comments

I think Playmates has had it in for Baxter Stockman ever since he didn’t get turned into a fly in the new cartoon. So while he was one most prominent villains (and a bit of a running joke), Playmates either made whatever they wanted and called it close enough or just made whatever they wanted out of spite.

TMNT Mini Mutants Review: Mini Moto-Sliders with Donatello & Michelangelo

without comments

Thankfully Playmates didn’t take the easiest way out with the Mini Mutants vehicle packs and at least sculpted a new vehicle instead of giving everyone a Shell-Cycle. Of course, this means Mikey and Donny end up getting near identical releases too. The only difference between these two sets are the head sculpts and the paint.

TMNT Mini Mutants Review: Paleo Patrol Donatello & Stego

without comments

As the turtles continue their prehistoric adventures, this second pack is pretty much like the first one I reviewed: an okay variant and a solid figure that is poorly named and makes little sense.
