Of all the super heroes, there is really only one that can get away with an absurd number of variants that actually make sense: Iron Man. While most characters with crazy levels of preparedness don’t go beyond just carrying an antidote or a chunk of a rock, Iron Man goes out of his way to built new suits of armor just in case one of his friends starts attacking him. The guy has trust issues.
Tony Stark has built dozens of Iron Man suits over the years. Each one is specialized to a unique purpose, and stored here, in the Hall of Armor, until the day when it will have to be used. This single room holds the most powerful collection of weaponry ever assembled on Earth – equal to the might of most other super heroes combined!
It seems that after beating Ivan “Whiplash” Vanko, Iron Man will be fighting a bunch of robots which means two things. A) Probably too many people thought it was weird that Iron Man killed so many people in the first movie and b) it will allow Iron Man to destroy things in awesome ways. But this pack seems to fill out the movie character roster.
The Stark Expo is thrown into chaos when Justin Hammer’s haywire drones begin attacking everything in sight. Luckily, Iron Man and his friend War Machine are there. Even though the drones outnumber them ten to one, the two Super Heroes are more than enough to handle them.
It seems like the first wave of Iron Man 2 Super Hero Squad 3-packs were just released, but with the release of the movie quickly approaching, Hasbro is working hard to get these figures out to the public. But this 3-pack is the first one that really gives us a glimpse of what will be coming in the next movie.
Tony Stark is caught by a surprise attack by the crazed Russian rogue Ivan “Whiplash” Vanko! Luckily, he’s got the powerful, portable Mark V armor with him. Even with an Armor Drone under his control, Ivan “Whiplash” Vanko is no match for Iron Man!
The second pack in the as-of-now series of two, Armor Wars, follows the same route as the first pack that was released: two new sculpts and one repaint. But this time instead of getting a comic looking pack based off of the movie, this pack draws straight from the comics and throws Iron Man against two of his metal clad foes.
A pair of powerful old enemies from a long-gone nation team up to destroy Iron Man. With armor every bit as fast and powerful as the American Super Hero, these two Iron Curtain stalwarts think there’s nothing that can stop them. It will take all of the power and intelligence Iron Man has to beat his newest foes!
Iron Man as a toy lends himself to two great outcomes. First, he’s always changing his suit so there are always new variants of him to be released (unlike Batman who just ends up getting oddly painted normally). And Iron Man often redoes his suit in different colors, what was once silver is now gold, what was once gold can now be red. And this Iron Man Movie themed three-pack is all about the repaints.
With new threats always arising, Iron Man knows he can never rest. He works constantly on his armor, inventing new weapons, and new ways of defeating his enemies. It has evolved from a single-purpose suit designed to help him escape captivity into a powerful airborne weapon. No force on Earth can stand up long against the full force of Iron Man!
You’ve got to hand it to Hasbro, they know when they’ve got a hit on their hands and rush product out the door. But sometimes companies get a little excited about having new toys and put them out before the street date, and that’s exactly what Toys “R” Us did with the newest Iron Man 2 toys. But I’m not complaining, because anything that adds to my armory is okay with me!
Iron Monger is back and more powerful than ever! As the giant Super Villain smashes his way through Stark Industries, Iron Man and his friend War Machine prepare to bring the battle to the bag guy. Iron Monger might be tough, but against two supersonic Super Heroes he doesn’t stand a chance!
