LEGO Iron Man Extremis Sea Port Battle

Like last time, this review may contain spoilers for Iron Man 3. Or comments that are completely wrong and out of place based solely on my own speculation. Either way, you’ve been warned. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Iron Man 3: Iron Man vs Mandarin

Warning: there may be spoilers for Iron Man 3 in this review. Or rampant speculation. Either way, if you’re worried about even the possibility of being spoiled then don’t read these reviews because they might give something away. Or maybe LEGO is just messing with us. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Ultimate Spider-Man’s Doc Ock Ambush

without comments

Licensing for major brands must be a challenge. Right now, you can go to your local Wal-Mart, Target or Toys “R” Us and buy Spider-Man from both LEGO and Mega Bloks! This set is technically labeled as being Ultimate Spider-Man, but there really isn’t anything about it that makes me think this is based on that continuity. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Avengers Review: The Hulk #5000022

without comments

I love it when the LEGO Store has giveaways since they just reward me for already buying way too much there. Almost all of my LEGO purchases now occur solely at LEGO Stores, I frequently end up with an extra set tossed into my giant bag. Is it bad that I don’t know if LEGO bags some smaller than massive? LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Quinjet Aerial Battle #6869

without comments

The final Marvel LEGO set is the biggest one, but instead of being the Helicarrier or some cityscape for our heroes to destroy, it ends up being the classic Avengers vehicle- the Quinjet! Part of me is still in awe that we even HAVE LEGO Avengers. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Hulk’s Helicarrier Breakout #6868

with 3 comments

I have one big issue with this set. They claim this is the Helicarrier. The box artwork vaguely tries to make it work but it really doesn’t. Had they just called this Banner’s Lab or something, it would have been fine. But calling it the Helicarrier means I think of this. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown #6866

with 2 comments

With LEGO having the Marvel license, they wanted to make it very clear they had more than just the Avengers license. Just like how the first wave of the DC Super Heroes featured all Batman and one Superman set, the first Marvel wave reminds us that LEGO has the whole universe. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape #6867

without comments

Next in the Avengers LEGO lineup includes the big bad and two heroes. I think the reason I like this so much is when you combine it with Captain America’s Avenging Cycle set, you end up with an evenly balanced battle!

Seize the stolen cosmic cube from Loki! Loki is escaping from S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters with the powerful cosmic cube. If he succeeds, he could use it to wreak havoc on the world! Can Iron Man take to the skies in his amazing armored suit and chase down the speeding off-roader or will Loki escape with the cosmic cube? Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Review: Captain America’s Avenging Cycle #6865

without comments

The Avengers LEGO sets have finally arrived! It has been a few years since LEGO last held a Marvel license, but now that they have it again, they’re wasting no time. And now I have a Batman, Harry Potter, Captain America and Jack Sparrow all in the same compatible scale!

Win the battle against the general and the foot soldier with Captain America! While riding his Avenging Cycle, Captain America spots the general on his craft. Help Captain America use his indestructible shield to defeat the general and his foot soldier! Win the battle and send them back to where they came from. The fate of the world lies in your hands.
