Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Sandman

with one comment

The more I look at the Marvel Mega Bloks figures, the more I realize that only with certain kinds of figures do they really excel. Iron Man and the Purple Spartan are excellent toys, but whenever Mega Bloks needs to make just a person, they seem to fall short. Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Mr. Fantastic

with one comment

It’s always bothered me when a toy company only releases one member of the Fantastic Four. The Super Hero Squad got it right when all four members came out in the same wave, but sadly Mega Bloks missed the memo and released only Mr. Fantastic. Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Iceman

without comments

It’s weird to think that Iceman is one of the original X-Men sometimes. Here’s a mutant, who is quite possibly one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe, and yet he rarely seems to do anything. I mean, this is the guy who used to cover himself with snow! Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Magneto

without comments

One thing I’ve really liked about the Marvel Mega Bloks Micro Action blind-bagged assortments is the simple fact that they actively seem to be pairing up heroes and villains. So with the X-Men being the main theme for wave 3, it’s a great idea to ensure the master of magnetism is included. Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Havok

without comments

This set tells me that Mega Bloks hit a wall when it comes to representing powers on their Marvel figures. Cyclops didn’t have anything, but Havok’s manifestation is downright odd. Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review: Cyclops

without comments

The third series of the Marvel Mega Bloks figures have been found in the wild and it seems like Mega Bloks is trying to get as many different characters out there as quickly as possible before the LEGO Marvel sets arrive. In an entire wave, there isn’t a single Iron Man and only one Spidey? Amazing! Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 2 Review: Loki

without comments

The final pairing in the Mega Bloks Marvel line are two classic brothers locked in an eternal battle – Thor and Loki! I’ve got to hand it to Mega Bloks for managing to include three great pairings of heroes and classic villains; it works so much better than the Spider-Man-centric first wave. Marvel Mega Bloks Series 2 Review: Thor

without comments

With Captain America facing off against his archnemesis and Iron Man and War Machine teaming up to take down Whiplash and an Army Drone, there is only one Avenger left who hasn’t been immortalized as a little Mega Bloks figure – Thor! Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 2 Review: Army Drone

without comments

A well done repaint is a rarity in the toy industry it seems. All too often, parts and pieces feel out of place when a company tries to cut corners. But if there is one super hero who lends himself to being repainted, it’s Iron Man. Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 2 Review: Ivan “Whiplash” Vanko

without comments

The hero and villain pairings are well done for the second wave of Marvel Mega Bloks figures. It’s always bothered me when heroes are left without a villain to battle, so getting Captain America and Red Skull in the same wave is great – and probably even better than Iron Man Mark V and Whiplash.
