with one comment

The fourth wave of the collectible LEGO minifigures finished off one theme they started on by giving fans two of the four major Universal Monsters: Frankenstein’s Monster and the Werewolf! Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Kimono Girl Review (8804)

without comments

Part of me loves how LEGO perceives Japan through their minifigures, especially the collectible series. After classic European medieval sets taking the main stage for years, LEGO has occasionally dabbled with ninja and samurais, but we’ve also gotten a sumo wrestler and now the Kimono Girl! LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Musketeer Review (8804)

without comments

LEGO mythology seems to be firmly set in specific time periods, and those periods don’t quite match up to actual eras. So to fill in some odd gaps, LEGO has turned to their collectible minifigures to round out certain eras. So when the pirates may be ravaging the high seas, someone needs to be protecting the land! LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Figure Skater Review (8804)

without comments

Not every single LEGO collectible minifigure can knock it out of the park. There has to be the occasional dud to really make you appreciate just how impressive this line actually is. But when even the less exciting figures are still excellently executed, you know this is a company that means business. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Sailor Review (8804)

with one comment

Not every LEGO figure can be super exciting to everyone. I’m sure there is someone out there who doesn’t love Gorillas, Cyborgs and Zombies (even if they are wrong), so while the Sailor isn’t terribly exciting, he’s still a fine little figure. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Crazy Scientist Review (8804)

without comments

Given the sabbatical I took from LEGO from around a decade, I missed out on a lot of weird stuff. Like the Agents and Agents 2.0 lines, which seem to be the source of this figure. But even if he isn’t new to you, this is one awesome scientist. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Punk Rocker Review (8804)

without comments

I don’t know how it’s even possible that LEGO managed to get to the year 2011 before releasing a guitar in scale with a LEGO figure. It seems like such a no brainer that could work in any City line. But they finally did, and it rocks. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Hockey Player Review (8804)

with one comment

The collectible minifigures line seems to be the place for LEGO to produce various sports-related figures which makes a lot of sense. When LEGO tried doing sports in the past, they made some awkward smaller sets that seemed to serve no real purpose and this way if someone just wants a Hockey Player, they can get one! LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Viking Review (8804)

without comments

I think the reason I adore LEGO Vikings so much (besides the fact that I missed out on them the first time around) is simply that they’re perfect either in the world of LEGO Pirates or LEGO Castle! But I ended up breaking down and buying an entire army of Vikings before LEGO announced they’d be returning. Read the rest of this entry »

LEGO Minifigure Series 4 Surfer Girl Review (8804)

without comments

I find it hard to believe that LEGO already ran out of ideas for the collectible minifigure series. Sure, part of me can’t believe how much LEGO figures cost nowadays but this wave gives us not only the second skater, but also the second surfer! Read the rest of this entry »
